THE OLD GRAY LADY

                   The Sixties antiwar protester, now
            The New York Times newspaper publisher,
            Asks how they dare besmirch his sacred cow.
           "It’s All the News That’s Fit to Print. Yes sir."
            This big commotion worries her investors,
            Her stock has dropped in half, subscriptions for
            Some libraries were canceled, and protesters
            All shout, "Support the Troops" and "Win the War."
            By printing classified war information
            Her news helps terrorists evade detection.
            New York will be the first strike in our nation.
            She has a disdain for her own protection.
            Treason? Insanity? Senility?
            The Old Gray Lady, she ain’t what she used to be.

     The fact Petraeus's  favorability rating went from 52% to over 60% in the wake of both
     the moveon.org ad and his testimony wasn’t missed by Democrats potential nominees.

                                      Colorful rows and rows of combat medals; 
                                      The clean-cut, healthy hero so polite 
                                      To bloviating Senators, just baffles 
                                      The mean, conniving Democrats in power. 
                                      How do you fight old-fashioned Truth and Justice 
                                      And the American Way? They'll devour 
                                      Us come election time for this injustice. 
                                      From Senator Inouye way back then 
                                      To Senator Hillary Clinton today, 
                                      The pusillanimous American 
                                      News audience reacted with dismay. 
                                      Was this the moment when, by her remark, 
                                      Hillary Rodham Clinton jumped the shark?
